Company said the move will create 150 management jobs over the next five years with an average annual wage of $93,257. Blockbuster will share campus with Dish at the Meridian International Office Park in Douglas Country. The Economic Development commission has granted Dish up to $2.5 million in Job Growth Incentive Tax Credits over the next five years. Dish which is the second largest satellite provider purchased Blockbuster out of bankruptcy for $320 million. Last year, Dish launched the Blockbuster Movie Pass, a streaming and DVD rental service that starts at $10 per month. Currently Dish employs about 30,000, including approximately 5,000 in Colorado. Dish is planning to close 500 underperforming Blockbuster stores this year and leaving it with about 1,000 stores nationwide.
