office buildingFranklin Street Properties Corp. purchased the 20-story 655,565 square foot office building for $217 million or $331 per square foot, located at 1001 17th Street (between Curtis and Arapahoe). With this latest acquisition, FSP’S portfolio will total 40 properties with an approximately 9.8 million square feet. At time of purchase, the building was 74% occupied, but recent commitments from tenants that signed new leases of approximately 100,000 square feet, will increase the building’s occupancy to just under 90% by year end. FSP also owns the 43-story 1999 Broadway in downtown Denver as well as 380, 385, 390 Interlocken in Broomfield, Greenwood Plaza, Highland Place 1 in Englewood and Centennial Technology Center in Colorado Springs. The purchase of 1001 17th Street was the largest year to date. Other sales in the downtown market includes the Denver World Trade Center for $175 million, Guaranty Bank Building for $70 million, and 1700 Broadway for $66 million.
